BUR #59366 has been rejected.
create alias party_dress -> dress
This kind of dress doesn't even have an established, unified appearance. It only has 470+ posts compared to other types of *_dress style. When I read the Wiki page for party_dress, example images there are overlapping with existing, more descriptive tags, such as:
Agree it's ununified and not needed, but I don't think it needs to be an alias. I vote to just deprecate it.

Alternate option (+1 with this), so there's a chance to re-tag them with more suitable ones.
What the tag is intended for, based on the description, is basically "fancy dresses", anything that's not an everyday dress.
We already have evening gown and cocktail dress which are basically "long, flowy fancy dress" and "shortish fancy dress" respectively. If this tag has any use, it would have to be as basically a supercategory, including both of those (they should probably eventually imply party dress if we were to keep it) and anything else that doesn't quite fit into those two but would feel appropriate for a formal occasion.
Which, yeah, is definitely a very broad and varied concept, I'm not sure how useful it would be.
