Mari's sprite from Blue Archive's closed beta. It's not any different from her current sprite design-wise, but it's kind of a meme due to her stare.
Another option would be turning it into a meme tag like beta_mari_(meme).

We normally use *_(old_design)* for prototype designs like this. So it would be Mari (Old Design) (Blue Archive).

Well, I can't edit that BUR anymore. And I don't see a point of creating a new one if the second one is more likely to be approved anyway.

So? It's still a skin tag. It's not like it can apply to anyone other than mari. If it's a gentag we can't even imply it to the main tag.
It could end up like Atsuko's Grin (meme) where artists draw the beta Mari expression on other characters.
