Popular Artists Draw Other Copyrights Conversion

BUR #59497 is pending approval.

convert pool:1338 -> popular_artists_draw_other_copyrights

I'm gonna be honest, I don't think this would be a good conversion personally. The pool however does seem to get varied use by multiple people and some in the discord mentioned they'd prefer it kept than not so gonna BUR it on their behalves and maybe there'll be some discussion.

I can not for the life of me think of a good name for this one. It's kinda hard to define this as a tag.

Hard agree with the nuke. I never liked this pool, as it's something that can easily be replicated with a negate of the main copyright an artist draws for. This is a search anyone can do.

Also, and this is something others have already pointed out, what qualifies as a popular artist? Let alone what copyrights get added, as I ain't seeing my niche copyrights in there. Is it only other popular copyrights? What are the thresholds here?

While I'm certain this pool must've been useful to someone at some point in time, I was never that person, and we can do more precise tag searches anyway, which is better than scrolling a pool for whomever you're looking for I think.

Besides the problem of just who or what is considered "popular" (which from what has been added in the past, can seemingly be as broad as anyone who has had an anime adaptation), another issue I've had with the pool is guest art often being added to it. I feel like the point of the pool is something like the artist drawing unofficial fanart, not something they were commissioned to do officially.

OK, if I'm gonna be frank with you, I personally think it works better as a pool, than it being a tag.

The problem is just collection pools as a whole. Either they are objective enough to work just as well as a tag, or they are so subjective that they're good for nothing. Cases like this kind of straddle the line, but if we deem it so subjective that it would only ever work as a pool (I do think this is the case), it's worthless for searching anything.

Fair enough, I guess. But I would personally argue that some of these kinds of pools just work better as they originally intended.
