Why do some animal species imply general tags?

Posted under Tags

Is there a reason why some animal breeds and species imply their general tags, while most others do not?

For example:
siamese cat -> cat
japanese macaque -> monkey
angora rabbit -> rabbit

I initially thought these were isolated cases left over from the Oldbooru era and wanted to create a BUR proposing the removal of those implications.

But then I noticed that the bird tag also implies a many bird species, and now I'm completely confused.

What's the difference?

BUR #60191 is pending approval.

remove implication siamese_cat -> cat
remove implication japanese_macaque -> monkey
remove implication angora_rabbit -> rabbit

Okay, setting aside the bird tag, I still think we should try removing the implications, since it looks pretty strange that, among all the species of these animals, only these three imply the general tag.
