Idolmaster costumes

@fuzzbawlz, I hope you don't mind me asking this, but why are you nuking the costume lists @makabe_shark made in Kasuga Mirai, Mogami Shizuka, Ibuki Tsubasa, Tanaka Kotoha et al, especially when you've made a comparable list in Kisaragi Chihaya?

He's been adding embeds for general tag costumes that aren't exclusive to those characters (or even in cases adding embeds for costumes that don't even have tags). Characters can wear up to 50+ costumes that are shared like that between characters, if every single costume got an embed it would be too much bloat for each character's wiki page (they look the same no matter who wears it). I've been maintaining a list of costumes page here list of costumes from idolmaster million live! theater days where all those shared costume general tags can be found. What I'm trying to do is limit the character wikis to only their character tag costumes (which is exactly how Kisaragi Chihaya is currently, I've just happened to have made more character tags for her).

For a comparison I know Love Live! has many shared costumes associated with songs (recently made into copyright tags), but I don't see those costumes getting embedded on Sonoda Umi's wiki page, just some character tags there. I don't know much about Fate but when I look at Saber's wiki even the Unnamed Official Costumes section is all stuff unique to her.

I'm also cutting down on the embeds for potential character tags that haven't been created yet, which I was the one to usually add those embeds previously because I expected to make the tags but now I don't really see the point in having them until the character tag is created.

Sidenote I did leave million dreams (idolmaster) on those pages since that costume has a unique appearance for each character.

I was concerned that that was the reason why you were removing those embeds. As far as I know, there is no official rule that says that you don't link to the shared costumes a character has worn, and that is distinct from wanting to prevent bloat in wikis.

The issue with your approach, and this could probably be said similarly for the Love Live! wikis, is that this makes things more difficult for the users uploading art from these franchises who might not have any idea of how things operate with the shared costumes.

Like, I'm going to go out at a limb here and make an assumption, and you tell me whether it's right or wrong, but are the shared costumes in Theater Days universally available to everyone you have access to in that game? I wouldn't know, I've never played it. If they are, then I completely understand removing the embeds from the wikis and would only encourage you to link to the costume list in the character wikis and maybe mention that the shared ones are available to everyone in the list wiki itself, but if they aren't, then no matter how much bloat it might be, info on who wears it has to be included somewhere on-site.

Also, on Saber you missed the fact that the Cheerful JAPAN! cheerleader costume she wears is just a different color from Rin, and that it is otherwise identical.

I now try to specify on each costume's wiki page if it's worn by all 52 characters (shiny trinity, prologue rouge for example), or list out all the characters it's worn by (pretty waitress has 35, high schoolmate has 20, concept gyarus has 10, but elementary schoolmate is only 3, so it can vary drastically). I also added a note to list of costumes from idolmaster million live! theater days that the common costumes section is what's available for all 52 characters, plus further down in a part of the unit costumes section (some start out for 2-6 characters but then the developers release it for the rest of the cast later).

There are SR card costumes like elementary schoolmate that have convenient official art for embedding like post #8734766, but unit costumes (which might only be available for 2-6 characters) usually just have official art like post #11441855 of all the characters in one image, so either we'd embed that on those five characters' pages or use the game screenshots like asset #47151691 that I use on the list of costumes page instead. And that pink dress I used as an example is only tagged on 5 posts anyway, would it be important enough to mention on character wikis? (Although I've made costume character tags that are only on around 5 posts too.)

I use this website https://mltd.matsurihi.me/costumes as a source for most of my tagging and wiki creation, but really if you just browse around (click "unit" and select any random character) you'll see the amount of shared costumes available for each character is staggering (even excluding the recolors), I just think it would be a headache to create unique lists on all 52 character wikis for who officially wears what. And characters being drawn wearing costumes they don't officially wear is also common concept_gyarus_(idolmaster) alternate_costume, in which case the only thing that could help a tagger is the list of costumes page. There's also the case where not every costume has its official art uploaded, monster! slime was embedded on their characters' wikis, meanwhile monster! devil has about 3x more art here but none of its official art is uploaded so it hasn't gotten a mention on any character wikis in the first place.

Side tangent I recall this post #2329413 being embedded on Kasuga Mirai's wiki, but the original Million Live before Theater Days wasn't a 3D game where you could dress up characters, this costume cardigan schooler comes from other idolmaster (classic) games that Mirai and other Million Live characters don't exist in, so it being here is more like a cameo for a single card. And that's the only piece of art that comes up for cardigan_schooler_(idolmaster) kasuga_mirai. So to me having that embedded feels like a stretch.

So I feel like there'd have to be a standard for mentioning shared general tag costumes on a character's wiki, like if it frequently appears in enough art worn by the character? Or is limited to very few characters, maybe around 3 so it doesn't have to be added to 20 character wikis? So I could accept elementary schoolmate makes a good candidate for that, for people that might check a character wiki but not bother to go beyond that onto the list of costumes wiki (not to mention I've added embeds for every costume on there for convenience).
