I'm having difficulty confirming whether Renard is her actual last name and not just Maria Renard's surname slapped onto her.

Apparently she's Maria Renard's sister in Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles, but not in other entries in the franchise, and this game takes place in an alternate continuity that is considered non-canonical with the main timeline anyway.
