おとぎ話は残酷かもしれない。
【鋳薔薇姫】は鋳薔薇に覆われた城の奥底で呪いによって眠り続けるお姫様を強くて美しい王子様が助け出し、口づけによって眠りの呪いを解くお話。

ある日のこと鋳薔薇の城に挑む勇敢な者が現れた。
険しい鋳薔薇を鋭い爪でなぎ倒す姿は強くはあったが美しいとは言い難く、彼には口づけができるような唇はなく、代わりに鋭い牙がそこにあった。

ほどなくして彼は城の奥、少女のところにたどり着くが鋳薔薇のトゲよりも鋭い爪では彼女を抱きかかえることはおろか触れることさえできなかった。もしこんな手で触れようものなら少女をズタズタに引き裂いてしまうだろう。

その時彼は自分が王子でないことに気が付いた。

彼ができることは二つ。鋳薔薇の代わりになること。
本物の王子が来るまでの間ただひたすら、鋳薔薇のトゲのごとく少女を守り続ける。

もう一つは、王子に殺されること。
鋳薔薇の排除と口づけが少女の呪いを解く唯一の手段だからだ。

彼は待ち続ける。城を覆っていた鋳薔薇さえ枯れるほどの長い時間。
彼女の呪いを解くために、王子に殺されるその日まで…。

Maybe fairy tales are cruel.
"Sleeping Beauty" is the story of a princess who sleeps in the depths of a castle surrounded by thorny shrubs after a spell was cast on her. A strong handsome prince then comes to her rescue and his kiss breaks the spell.

One day, a brave one goes to take the challenge of the thorny castle.
He tackles the inaccessible thorny shrub and cuts through it with his sharp claws. He is definitely strong, but it would be very difficult to say that he is handsome. He does not even have the lips that would be needed to kiss the princess; he has some sharp fangs instead.

Before long, he gets to the inside of the castle and reaches the young lady. However, his claws are sharper than the thorns surrounding the castle, so how can he even think about holding her, when he won't dare touch her? If he were to touch her with his sharp claws he would end up ripping her to shreds.

It is then that he realizes that he isn't a prince.

He decides that there are only two things that he can do. One, to take the place of the thorny shrub.
He could just become the same as the thorny shrub and protect the girl until the real prince comes to rescue her.

And two, to be killed by the prince.
Because the only way to break the spell is to destroy the thorny shrub and kiss the girl.

And so he waits... He waits for a long time, so long that even the thorny bush starts to die.
He will wait until the day the prince comes to kill him and break the spell on the girl.
