After graduation, the two were conscripted by the RDO and tasked with leading the "Dragon Head Project."
Together, they were able to perfect the theoretical basis for the device, as well as almost completing the construction of the device itself. But one final obstacle stood in their way: the device required a computational core on par with a human brain. This became the single, glaring void in their otherwise perfect blueprint.
In that moment, an answer flickered in Chopin's mind.
—Of course. They could just extract someone's actual brain to use as a substitute.
And with so little time left anyway, she was more than willing to be that someone.
