Delphinus Dawn
Stepping into the R-101 felt like meeting an old friend you’ve only seen in fancy brochures. The elegant canopy structure sealed with a hiss. And instantly, the world outside transformed into a endless canvas of sky. I initiated the Electro-Neuron-Synapse Interface, nicknamed the “ENSI COFFIN” for the snug, helmet-like embrace. Feeling every synaptic node light up in my head. Controls were impossibly smooth; the 101's Y-shaped profile lent it a sleek, aquatic grace that seemed to anticipate my every thought. Uncanny.
Keeping pace with formation, I banked into a high-G turn that would’ve left lesser frames begging for mercy. Every pull on the stick, every tap on the rudder-set was met in kind by the onboard systems. No lag, no hesitation! The "Delphinus" name may sound friendly, almost whimsical, but once you’re nose-down at five-hundred knots toward a cloud wall, it becomes clear this is a prize fighter. I used to deride the overdesigned split-intake and dainty wings, which I’d assumed was mere showmanship by the Neucom techs. But those very elements bit into the airstream with razor-clean efficiency, whispering encouragement through the HUD as I climbed back into the sunlit stratosphere.
Touching down, a grin spread under my visor. The ENSI nodes pinged pleasantly, congratulating me on a job well done. Its rare for reality to live up to the hype, but I'll be dammed. The Delphinus seems to be the real deal, and then some. I can’t wait to get back up there.
