Where i hailed from, there's a saying "having a cavity hurts more than having a broken heart".. I disagree until i took a drill to the molar..

Now everyone...think back & imagine all the time you went to the dentist & the procedures done to you.

You feel that? It's kinda' like a phantom pain of sorts, your body (and teeth & gums) can somewhat remember all that you've felt quite clearly. Almost like an instinctive feel to some even.

What really makes me nervous is that smell running through my nasal cavity when I first enter the lobby.

The drill noise has a strong psychological effect, but in my experience, the worst parts are the injection of the anesthetic (more the ache as the body reacts to the foreign substance, which goes on for a while, than the brief sting of the needle) and then the unpleasant, somewhat char-like smell generated from heated/pulverized tooth material if the drill has to be active for a while.

Surprisingly, the one root canal I've ever had (which sadly wasn't enough to save the tooth) wasn't nearly as bad. There was intense pain for a fraction of a second as the anesthetic was applied (more or less poured into the opened top of the tooth, I think), and then no pain at all, nor any unpleasant odor from drilling. I was amazed at how far dentistry has come in the last few decades.

Very true they don't even need injections to numb the area anymore they have some chemical I remember them put on a cotton bit and had me bite down after a few second could not feel a thing.

What hurts is after the operation that they are doing when the anesthesia wears of like an hour later and everything starts to hurt especially my muscles from having my mouth wide open for that period

Those people probably shouldn't play any of the fossil fighter series games then.
