Seems to be it's one of those love-hate sort of things where because they like her that much, they play as her a lot and think about her a lot, leading to her getting portrayed as hurt more often... I dunno how quite to explain it, but it's like how when you really like a character sometimes and you begin to appreciate the grim Bad End stuff just as much as the cutesy fluff.
