    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 1831

If you're not all-out serious about it, you can get away with something reasonably inexpensive.

You couldn't buy a Nikon D4 or some such, could you, Sanae-san? The camera alone costs abut ¥700,000, though. (^^;)

The survey is just what you need right now:

What do you want right now?
    • Time
    • Artistic skill
    • Gag material
    • Printing funds
    • Food

Reader-added tags include "No 'Money' in the survey", "No 'Enthusiasm' in the survey", and "No 'Girlfriend who will cosplay for me' in the survey".

And I added "Existential" for ironic effect.
...sometimes I lay in bed and feel like trash....

I couldn't figure out how that related to the strip, and besides which, the ones I listed formed a nice pattern.

    • Time

Why are there only 24 hours in a day, and why am I stuck spending the majority of them doing things I don't wanna do? Sigh...

Actually, for wide field astrophotography, it is far cheaper (and with higher quality results) to use image stacking with multiple shorter exposures than one long exposure. You get less image noise, and you don't need the rotational mount (you really only need those if you plan to zoom in anyway).

Heck, I have a medium level point and shoot (cost me about AU $200 back in mid-2009), and it can take reasonable wide field images without any processing (probably even better if I went somewhere slightly less light polluted, even the top of my street has better night views), so surely a 500k yen camera out of the box, placed on a tripod could take decent images.

    TL:DR
If Sanae has a tripod and a camera that can take 10 second exposures, she can take images of the stars.

    /astrophotography rant.

Ah, so that's how you do it. I'll try something like that this winter. We get some nice clear skies in the winter. And since I'm in the tropics, the nighttime winter here is only a breezy 18 degrees Celcius. I'm also about half an hour from the city and a mile away from the closest major roadway, so light pollution is fairly minimal. Thanks for the tip!

It's almost always preferable to stack so it will work. That being said, better cameras = less stacks needed or better quality with the same stack, my guess there.

I wonder how I could get a photo of it.
    Like this
Enough, already. I'll just manage with Photoshop.
First, you set up a high-sensitivity camera that can take shots when the shutter opens.
...so you'll need a pedestal called an equatorial telescope to prevent this.
If you're going to use long-term exposure, then diurnal motion will make the stars show up all streaky...
    That'll probably run about ¥100,000.
You should go with wide-aperture, wide-angle lens with a bright F-value.
    Then—
    Respond to the Question
Still, the night sky sure is pretty.
It'd probably run you about ¥500,000 for the set.
