That's pretty cheap for Hong Kong.

And I see they're staying in the Chungking Mansions... which seems rather unwise given Kogasa-san has a Luck score of -15. Even with Balalaika there, I'd worry if I was Kogasa.

The last time I 3ws there, most of the stores and booths were run by East Indian or Indonesian folk, so I think that was a bit of a shock for Kogasa-san.

This was a slight miscalculation, Ran-sama. There are other hostels on Nathan Road or in Sham Shui Po I'd have gone to instead.

And even then those can be sketchy from what I heard. Some have hourly rates and are basically used as love hotels or so my relatives tell me. :P

I'd have paid the extra for somewhere less scary.

Some can be, but there are others which are basically no-frills hotels.

Kogasa-san may have saved a few thousand yen, but paid a price in her sense of security. But it also resulted in more 4koma materials so....

I've always used the key that ¥1 = 1 cent. Not entirely accurate anymore, but usually still handy if you want a ballpark estimate.

As of this moment as I write this, that is 190.40 Hong Kong Dollars or 24.55 US Dollars. So pretty cheap. I've been in more expensive budget hotels.

If they were going to use a Black Lagoon character anyway, they missed out on using Mr Chang, AKA, motherfucking Chow Yun Fat, given the whole Hong Kong Triad angle.
