Best move that leg now and feel all the pain rush through your body.

It's better than realizing that you have to cut your legs off before it develops gangrene.

The proper way of sitting doesn't risk you with constricted arteries, or so I imagined because your leg goes numb due to loss of blood flow. I really need to find out why some people back in the days really can sit seiza for prolonged periods...

I've had the burning desire to poke the soles of someone sitting seiza since I first laid eyes on it. It's a good thing I can't afford to go to Japan for many reasons; that's one.

The "discipline" (read: stupidity) to do so was limited to affluent people.

This is the same reason corset-induced fainting, and post-Renaissance artists of noble ladies were all rail-thin and horribly pale was a thing in Europe, because these were things the poor couldn't afford. Foot-binding in China was in large part the same sort of conspicuous consumption.

You can probably tell I'm not a fan of (read: "THE OPPRESSORS MUST DIE!" -quote from Command & Conquer 3, a Militant Squad selection line-) most of traditional culture in general (though I do note that Japanese food items that DON'T include raw meats taste generally quite decent), especially in decorum, particularly in terms of expectations toward women.

To be fair, kneeling for really long periods of time isn't nearly as self-destructive as breaking ribs with whalebone corsets, taking poison to appear paler, or crippling one's feet.

We need to practice so that we can sit this way for long periods of time.
    -Or rather, I give up~!!
T... that, certainly is a big problem...!!
Why do the Japanese teach such a weird way of sitting, I wonder?
    Libe-chan?
    S... sorry... right now...
Even a little movement... is impossible......
    *prickly*
"Seiza" Is a style of sitting practiced in Japan that is required at certain ceremonies like funerals.
Libe-chan, you should stretch out your legs too
