My cat Luka is growing weaker and weaker. I spend most of my time saying "thank you for everything". We discovered the root of his illness is a terminal genetic heart condition. It's very hard to see him so weak, so thin, and with his fur falling out. But right now, he's still having some good days. He still purrs, he still laps up some watered down food, he'll still curl up in your lap and touch his nose to your chin. Right now it's just a matter of back and forth, taking him to the vet for treatment and ultrasounds when we think he's up for it, praying that the medication is doing something good (it's still experimental). When the bad days really begin to outnumber the good, and I know that day may come very soon, it will be time to start saying "goodbye".
