I see no problem with "After all" in that context. You could put that at the beginning or the end. I op for beginning cause it's an ongoing conversation they're having so she's adding on to what was said previously.
Also don't confuse "Natural English" with "Proper English" which I think you are doing. No one talks like a text book English Teacher in real life. She sounds normal (in that englash translation) as far as any conversations i've ever heard/seen.
