The artist commentary is actually "Yoooshiyoshiyoshiyoshiyoshiyoshi!" "Yoshi-yoshi" is something you say to children and/or pets to calm them down or, as is the case here, while you're petting them vigorously. In other words, the translation is fairly liberal, so changing it around is fine.
