OT, but Toki (Nipponia nippon) is classified as extinct in the wild (not critically endangered) in the Red List published by Ministry of Environment of Japan (MOEJ). Wild toki in Japan has already extincted, though there still are (or were, perhaps?) wild one in China.

I've seen no example of a Friend of a species classified as CR (by both IUCN and MOEJ) has empty eyes.
