Yes, which is their weak point. A game where the ball is always up in the air nearly all the time doesn't play so much to their weaknesses.

On a different note, I added the extra commentaries for translation. Dankanmitsu helpfully has their own translations already up (#1, #2), which could probably be used as a "measuring stick" of sorts.

And can anyone make out the kanji and kana on the TV screen in the top right corner? I can see the kanji for "Japan" in the very beginning of the first line, at least.

EDIT: ... Huh, I didn't know we have inconvenient breasts as a tag. We should probably scour through this pool for other posts to which this tag may apply.

We've generally been pretty good about that. From a quick glance, the only post I thought might need the tag is post #2580358 (I'm not sure if the "inconvenience" of more expensive bras counts for the tag).

Well, the thing is, "incompetence gene" is a bit "word salad". Translations should focus upon translating the meaning, not just being literal, and straight "incompetence gene" doesn't have any meaning to me, at least. If you want to say something like "inferior genetics", you can, but that starts to imply connotations eugenics...

Her point of view does not match what we actually see of her. Her top from her POV is lower cut than what it actually is.

Also, I'm pretty sure she has bigger problems than having view-obscuring breasts if she missed the ball like that.

Seems to be a banner for the match between Japan and Senegal, which aired yesterday and ended in a 2-2 tie.

The phrase "incompetence gene" seems very obvious as a facetious way of saying that one's general incompetence (whether as a person or in a certain field) is inborn by claiming that it's literally genetic in origin. Besides, it's not "incompetence gene(s)", it's "soccer incompetence gene(s)". How about rendering it as "soccer-incompetence gene(s)", to clarify the intended meaning of "gene that leads to incompetence at soccer"?

She's also imaging her missing the ball and being confused so that doesn't add up since the sister's POV and what we actually see are still different.

Took me a while to get what the hell was going on in the image. The soccer ball is on a different "Panel" in the bottom and the entire bottom half is just a thought bubble by Ai, not a seperate pannel altogether.

Only now did I notice that 1) Ai-chan is waving her hand (obviously to say "No way, no way"), and 2) Ai-chan's mom is also waving her hand in the same way.

... Anyone going to translate the commentary, BTW?

It's a sequence, the ball goes out of her vision by going under her boobs, then she loses the ball.
