technically there's the anshan sisters as (russian expats), but they don't tend to use their mother tongue, beyond fushun still periodically being called by her original name. pretty save bet it's avrora, since she's mikasa's contemporary.

Well, the original text has her shift to a different style of speaking, so I wanted to reflect it somehow. Since the context implies she's speaking the way she used to during her younger days, I picked the Lancashire dialect because Mikasa was built in Barrow-in-Furness (they speak Barrovian there, but it's pretty much a variant on Lancashire.) Notably, like a lot of countryside English dialects, they (well, the older generation) still use thou's and thee's, so they sound somewhat old-fashioned.

Interestingly, Barrow even named a street after Mikasa (an honor Kongou didn't get).

Of course, it might have been a piss-poor attempt, because the dialect isn't documented that well and I was working based on sound clips and some second-hand descriptions.

Mikasa’s old-fashioned speaking remains me of how some people in certain areas of Britain speak (either Sheffield or Glasgow.)

Although considering Mikasa was built in England, I wouldn’t be surprised.
