    Wow, I didn't know even the Japanese liked that book. If you look at the caterpillar's face you can see where they get their anime eye designs from. Truly an influential book.

    Yeah, everyone knows Scrooge McDuck is what really inspired the creation of Manga/Anime
    In case you don't want to look, I'll summarize: Osamu Tezuka 'The Godfather of Manga' and creator of Astro Boy admitted that Scrooge McDuck was the basis for his work. He even sent greeting cards to Carl Barks thanking him for the inspiration (with drawings of Astro Boy hugging Scrooge, to boot).

    So... the more you know.
