Well of course her mother would be prepared for this kind of thing; she probably had suffered from the same plight for a longer period of time than her daughters have.

Awwww, Himura is giving thank yous to his fandom for sticking with him for so long. Has it really been 4 years already since he started?

... Season 2 of Tawawa anime when?

Think we should beg Himura Kiseki to make some strips that focus on Ai-chan's Mom's own "tawawa-ness" (whether in the present or the future)?

My bets on a Christmas date of Ai-chan or Kouhai-chan, and a possible strip of White Christmas iykwim.

Hmmm? So the button doesn't always break huh? Check what kid of thread you are using, don't be thinking that much on buttons, mama.

This family should invest in steel threads or something.

That'll just shred the shirts. You need to consider the structural integrity of the whole garment. (And possibly suggest fashions that provide more room around the ribcage.)

So you stitch in some matte steel threads along the buttonline. Like rebar for cloth.

If the button gets burst out of its place, the little bit between the holes on it will break instead of staying intact as we see here. We can even see that it's the thread that got torn there so button must be intact. I know because I had a time when my shirt's button get broken all the time. 90% of them are broken buttons. Remaining 10 is the thread holding them in place came loose.

Oh, I see what you mean. You're saying that the buttons that Ai-chan gives to Oniisan are the ones that actually broke in this way, which is not to say that all of the buttons that pop out from her shirts do break rather than just the strings holding them in suffering the critical structural failure. That makes a lot of sense.

I suspect a lot of the buttons get launched so far that they get lost. And for this family it's easier to just buy buttons by the 200-pack than to go searching for the button every time.

Especially since finding the button might involve crawling around on the floor or ground with a failed bosom button. Fun for us, yes, maybe not so much for her.

I know. But if the button doesn't break, then it's the thread that fails.
Improve on the thread might be better help than just keep buying surplus of buttons.

Would bigger buttons make any difference?

No. Based on the principal of physics, the stress experienced by both the thread binding the buttons into the cloth would not be lessened by increase of surface area of the button, since the more important area was the surface area where the stitching was made. Button hole-type (flat buttons) design has generally the weakest stress resistance between the numerous button styles, with the strongest being toggles and/or stud/snaps like in jeans, since they will need some harder backing material to be installed properly.

    Not quite.
What you need is how much stretch the thread can handle. Not how hard the material is.
When it comes down to it, a properly threaded rope can take more than a chain of steal when it comes to holding things in places. At the size of a thread for sewing, metal based materials make even less sense.
