Yeah, that's why I didn't say it was Engrish, just weird... at least from my own experience. You can technically put the comma in a lot of places, but it can make the reading awkward if you're not careful.

It was a more common practice in older writings for sentence-final 'too', but since 'too' is a simple adverb this practice has mostly being abandoned except when additional emphasis is needed (like commas before other sentence-final simple adverbs).

When repeating back a greeting, it is unusual to put the pause there, which is why it will sound weird to some anglophones.
