This particular Golden Week is extra long... an unprecedented 10 days (April 27 to May 6), due to the change of era adding extra days (the succession added May 1, and since April 29 and May 3 are already part of normal Golden Week holidays, April 30 and May 2 got added to the public holidays, filling the gaps). It's caused some serious traffic congestion with people returning.
