This artist seems to get alot of hate when it comes to AL. Does anyone know why?

No One knows, they liked his Yamato's and his other fan designs, but started acting like he pissed in their mouths when he got hired for an official ship design.

Places where he usually posts to like Twitter or Reddit have a pretty positive reaction. Or mostly positive, I don't bother to check all of them.

I've never been a huge fan of his stuff but I don't get what's to hate about him in general.

I've never figured out the exact reason, either, but someone told me that Dishwasher was going on and on about how his take on the Yamatos was canon for AL without Yostar saying anything about it. I have no way to verify that, and while he's undoubtedly right in that they'll be über-fluffy foxes (which I'm sure most of us figured as well), Shinano alone suggests that the whole thing is BS, regardless of whether Dishwasher said these things or not. Arrogance has also been brought up as well.

I suppose one could chalk it up to the fact that Dish is extremely popular (and I'm sure his Patreon is raking in somewhere around a grand a month, so assuming he's got steady work elsewhere, that's pretty good milk money) and attracts a lot of very excitable followers who'll sing his praises 'till the cows come home. It can get annoying, yes, but he's still a skilled artist and a passionate fan of AL at the end of the day who managed a hell of a formal debut directly contributing to the game he loves. The moment I saw Prinz Heinrich, I knew she would score the most fanart, and her personality in the Inverted Orithant storyline bounces off of Straßer's surprisingly well.

Like him or not, he's probably here to stay.

canon on his own opinion. But the yostar has the final say.

I definitely do prefer the Shinano we got to his Shinano design, but he is a superb artist regardless and if his Yamato design specifically gets chosen, I won't feel salty at all.

His art can be disive as while he's great at rendering existing shipgirls, his own take at designing is mixed as he seems prone to missing the proper design notes for Eagle or Sakura union (his Yamato class come off like a KC fan design than a current AL one and his Iowa seemed to have more Iron Blood traits on the rigging). Another part is how he has a loud fanbase that seem to eat up anything with a big chest which annoys others for a number of reasons (one of which is enabling his bad habits than trying to help him curb them)

in a way Iron Blood is a good match for him as his design sensibilities mesh quite well with the faction trends.

No real reason. You'll get several different reasons depending on where you ask, but aside from not liking his art/designs, they're all just excuses to shit talk. A few examples include

"someone told me that Dishwasher was going on and on about how his take on the Yamatos was canon for AL without Yostar saying anything about it" being a straight up lie. He's done nothing even close to that.

"His fanbase is so annoying" which ofc has nothing to do the artist themselves.

Or "He/his fanbase went apeshit when his Shinano design wasn't chosen" which is also just a straight up lie on both accounts.

You also have weird conspiracy theories on 4chan, like claiming he sends his fans to /alg/ to shill for him. No proof of this, obviously.

Then there's the discord frogs who've talked shit about his designs and call him "trashwasher" "dickwasher" and other variations for months, and he calls them (Or rather, Fish, who's probably the worst offender of doing that) a twat for calling him dickwasher, they get angry and say "he can't take criticism" etc.

TL;DR there is no reason people hate just to hate
