The way this trolley problem is phrased (and drawn) is a reference to 33 Thought Experiments to Train Your Logical Thinking Skills (論理的思考力を鍛える33の思考実験), which was also the one responsible for turning this into a meme when a teacher posted a snippet on Twitter (with the image) discussing their student's reaction to it.

There is a lever, which, when manipulated, will switch the trolley to a different set of tracks with one mine worker on it.
    What will you do then?
Ahead, on the tracks, there are five mine workers. The trolley is headed straight for them.
There is a runaway trolley barreling down the railway tracks. This and the following have been rephrased somewhat in the TL to make the "trolley problem" clearer.
