Though, hmm... now that we are starting to think about 'real-life' equivalent implications in an "athletic sports" context... Tachyon's shady drugs now seem like doping. IIRC there aren't any that are geared towards performance-enhancing, but the 'anti-fatigue' supplements she hands over to Scarlet are a bit... sketchy. Athletes have been busted for taking similar substances in real life without realizing they contain prohibited substances.

Eh, can be handwaved, I suppose. Tachyon knows enough to use the non-prohibited ones, maybe. And her research is more oriented towards finding a cure for her legs and not for increasing performance anyway.

Though... there are still a bunch of really unfortunate implications that are ripe for scandal no matter what Tachyon's motives or methodology are.

And I suppose there's also all the coffee Manhattan Cafe is hooked on; caffeine being a common doping drug for horses in real-life horses, though now it has fallen out of favor because it is one of the first things checked. Though, easily handwaved with umamusume having more human-like metabolism.

i checked out some of the real life horses the girls were based on under the idea that they may have the quivalent of man oppais...GolShi, Rice Shower and Twin Turbo didn't have much from what i observed.

There seem to be some correlation with the actual size of the horse (with mares getting a further boost to compensate), but it doesn't hold consistently across the board. Someone listed up all the average weights (rough indication of size) of the RL horses here, along with their uma-girl counterparts' measurements.

Note that the sub-450kg horses have their uma-counterparts being consistently smol or flat (or both). Twin Turbo, Narita Taishin, Tamamo Cross, etc.

The 475kg-495kg region is where things get a little arbitrary. There are two main oddities. One, Symboli Rudolf is portrayed as being rather tall with... ample assets, despite her RL horse only being at around 477 kg. Though this is likely done to play up her "Emperor" title as well as her 'fatherly'/sempai role towards Teio. And her position as Student Council President.

Daiwa Scarlet is an even far more skewed, being tall and having one of the most generous assets despite her RL horse being pretty much around the same size as Vodka. This one is probably... fanservice. Vodka is also a slight oddity, being more petite than other characters based on mares at her weight class or below.

Overall, the size of the horse also has a moderate amount of influence on the uma-girl height and... three sizes, but it will take a backseat to other character design concepts like their titles or names or familial relationships or real-life achievements or other RL events... depending on what the char designer wanted to focus on. But yeah, horses that are known for being smol in RL also get smol uma-girls.

Edit: Waitaminute, think the RL Daiwa Scarlet also had a lot of foals. Maybe that's a factor too for the mares?
