It's kind of ridiculous that gangrene (or whatever) is ravaging her extremities yet her left ear tip is just fine hanging on by the smallest bit of flesh while still holding itself up and responding to motor control.

On another note, "Doesn't remember anything from before" my foot.

Maybe it's an instinct thing. Elves in most fiction are naturally attuned to nature so her being able to calm an angry forest creature is as easy to her as breathing.

Uh... high-density cartillage? I mean human ears keeping their shape with this tissue (of softer sorts), but elves' "knife ears" should naturally evolve to have it quite hard to keep it's shape and not sag under it's own weight.

I'd have liked to have seen the bear's reaction. Maybe we'll see it again?

Her limbs are necrotic (so, the tissue is literally dead and decaying- hence my amazement that she doesn't have sepsis). The worst damage her ears seem to have are some wounds, so they (and her head in general) are in much better condition than her limbs.

As we walked through the deep forest to reach our goal of the portal, we ran afoul of some bad luck We encountered a King Grizzly... They're quite ferocious and hard to handle right before hibernation. I wouldn't have any trouble dealing with it if I was by myself, but in this situation, she might end up being exposed to danger

I don't reall-... know That one was... scared... ...so...
As I resigned myself and took knife in hand, a mysterious resonant sound reverberated from behind my back; it was neither a cry nor a song, but Reszurre's voice. When the sound reached the bear's ears, it gave a relieved breath before returning to the underbrush. It seemed like the first time I had seen this "elven" side of her
