I bet the April Fool's joke they'd pull is if the girl was built up to be the first female protagonist in Gundam history only to be unceremoniously killed off in the Prologue in the vein of other Newtype female love interests so as to build up the male Gundam protagonist's personality by giving them someone to mourn over...
