actually in modern times, Barrel bathing is kinda a "for fun" thing people do. Also sometimes a Tourist attraction too. It feels different from taking a bath in a procelin bathroom or public hot springs. Also gives people a chance to have that feeling of camping outdoors and seeing the night sky without actually camping.

We do have a specific name for 'barrel bathing' or 'bathing in metal basin' in Japanese culture. It's called 'Goemon bath.' Heck, it has it's own TvTropes page.

Edit: What? People dislike how I diss their senpais that, rather than do observation, infiltration, research on their target and so on (like they are supposedly renowned for), want to destroy Schale because it is doing their old job? I may not be deep enough in the story, maybe it will be revealed they are being double agents? I am currently at what is released in the English version and they are working with Defense to end Schale if not outright eliminate Sensei one way or another. Don't tell me that isn't being a fool that can't see the forest for the tree.

Well, first of all, I wasn't looking at the picture and didn't realize this was the identical Arius Squad variant of the image. Arius Squad did nothing wrong, they deserve to be happy.
Second, Rabbit Squad was going to be transferred to another school like everyone else. They weren't fucking thrown onto the streets to fend for themselves. They commandeered a bunch of expensive equipment that wasn't theirs, occupied a public park, endangered innocent bystanders, and damaged public property. They literally became terrorists. And Sensei just handwaved all of it.
It is 100% their own faults that they're living in a park surviving off expired bentos. It was their choice to live so miserably, because they're too proud to go to any other school. They are idiots.
I like the Rabbit Squad, but they are stubborn idiots, and despite all the trouble they caused they got off scot-free, and really only because Kanna was a corrupt cop.
