I haven't found any other media referring to the Invasion of Peleliu as "Hard Landing"

This could just as easily be Kwajalein as Peleliu. Especially given that one of Johnny's targets at Kwajalein has become a bit of a meme lately. What gives you the impression that this depicts the Peleliu landings?

Mostly the "Hard Landing" Title, the Bayonets and Thompson as well as the melonbooks 3rd preview image (such as the beach scene and the drowning fairy) seeming to reference scenes from the the Call of Duty World at War Mission of the same name set in Peleliu.

I assume both battles had them too but the Landing Craft firing rockets in the pv's 2nd image could be a reference to Cod WaW too

Both Peleliu and Kwajalein do have airfields, Johnston and marines though yeah.

That being said, Colorado's there so this is Kwajalein after all.
