I understand that before she actually had an extreme me reaction, and she’s being “would you kindly’d” into being a soulless murder machine.
But brainwashing aside, isn’t this normal? Especially in war? People just adjust to it. Get rid of enemies and joke around wotht their friends later/more concerned that their friends made it out.
At least, the few times I’ve heard soldiers talk about this. It just becomes another day. For some people at least.

You should consider that many soldiers, after the war is over, come with a wide range mental health issues. So is not like you can joke it out and everything is going to be fine in your head.

Except those who developed extreme apathy and has traces of psychopath/megalomania from the beginning. They are rare, almost never get attention but will also cause problems---in other way than those with post-war depression and PTSD.
