I can see how it looks like one, but its not. Plasma pistols don't have that little magazine that this one has.

That plasma pistol looks like from 40k, despite the odd design.

You can say the pistol is a mix between a plasma pistol and one of the guns from Gantz. Or a "Moon pattern barrage fire gatling gun", as the sign on the display case says.
