I guess not surprising. Their love of coffee managed to get a coffeemaker developed in Paris to be known everywhere else as the Neapolitan coffeemaker and randomly spent several minutes in two of their movies in the 60's explaining how to use the device. (YouTube).

On the other hand, I am pretty sure that that kind of thing with 1% coffee and 99% cream/chocolate/whatnot is considered a warcrime by italians. Or at least by some of them.
