Cropping images falls under third-party edit rule.

Regarding the appeal message, I was under the impression that "cleaned" images are those that have been restored to the artist's original version, e.g. by removing scan artifacts. Not images that have been modified from the original by cutting out entire characters or poses.

This isn't cleaned, it's an extraction.

Extraction falls under third party edit rule...
As per wiki "Third-party edits are generally against the upload rules and should not be uploaded."

"Generally" and "always" are not synonyms.

It's nice to have it but better post it to original image post comments.
