「あなたたち、何なのかなー？」

謎である。
姉妹が召喚されたときから共にいる。
そもそも生物なのか。使い魔なのか。幻想種なのか。
それ以外の何かなのか。
答えを知るものはいない。

……ただし、徴側は感じるときもある。
この子たちに見られてると、頑張ろう、という気分になる。色々足りないかもしれないが、それでも、自分たちを頼りにしてくれてる誰かが存在しているのだということを実感できる。
そういう、力を与えてくれる、かつての「みんな」と同じ目をしてるなあ、と思うときはあり―――
故に、この子たちは「みんな」なのかもしれないなあ、と彼女は思ったりもするのだった。
その意味もまた、定かではないが。
ともあれ。

「正体とか関係なく、とっても可愛い、いつも一緒にい
　てくれる、大切な相棒だって二人とも思ってくれてる
　ぱおん！」
「間違いないぱおん。安心したから鼻こすりつけ遊びの
　再開だぱおん！」
「負けないぞー！　ぱおぱお！」

「……何やってるの、お姉ちゃん？」
「はっ！？　う、ううん、何も？　一人二役で吹き替え
　とかしてなかったよ、全然？」

"What are you two, anyway?"

The answer remains a mystery. All we know for certain is that these tiny elephants were summoned along with the sisters they now accompany. Are they alive? Familiars? Phantasmals? Something else entirely? Nobody knows for sure. That being said...there are times Trưng Trắc feels like these elephants inspire her to do her very best. Times they help her realize that, even with her various shortcomings, both real and imagined, there are still people out there counting on her and her sister for help. Times their eyes remind her of all the people who once gave her strength... And so, she sometimes thinks they may actually be the very people she and Nhị once knew. Though of course, if they are, that raises its own questions. At any rate...

"Even if they don't know who we are, both sisters think we're adorable and consider us trusted partners, tarantara!"
"Definitely. It's a big relief. Now let's get back to our trunk-rubbing game, tarantara!"
"You're on, tarantara!"

"Uh... What are you doing, Sister?"
