  • Yorktown’s Last Bell Ring – Tribute Illustration

Spontaneous illustration created to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Midway, depicting the final moments of the USS Yorktown (CV-5) — June 7, 1942, around 07:00.
The wreck now lies at a depth of ~5,100 meters.

This piece was done in a single session using Clip Studio Paint, drawn freehand with no pre-sketch.
While not aiming for photorealistic precision, I sought to capture the emotional weight of this historical moment — the silence, the descent, and the final echo.

Created as part of my work as 2D artist on TFA, an indie game project in development blending historical settings and fictional narrative.
    Includes timelapse and process breakdown.

    Lest we forget.
