One of the main characters from the Star Wars science fiction series, and the protagonist of the prequel trilogy.
Portrayed by Jake Lloyd as a child in The Phantom Menace, and by Hayden Christensen or his likeness otherwise (with the exception of Sebastian Shaw's one portrayal as Anakin).
He is the padawan (disciple) of Obi-Wan Kenobi and the master of Ahsoka Tano. While he became a hero of the Republic, Anakin's promising career was tragically cut short when Darth Sidious corrupted him to the Dark Side, and he was rechristened as Sith Apprentice Darth Vader.
He is also the father of the twins Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa. His visions of losing his wife, Padme Amidala, a senator who had kept their marriage a secret from the Jedi Council, were one of the main reasons for his path to the dark side. His visions would later come true, as she would die just right after the birth of the twins.
