A box with mounted electric bells (usually two). Used with early telephones to notify of incoming calls before the onset of internal phone ringers.

These are most common as part of antique wall mounted telephone units. They often feature a rotary dial and a crank, with a corded handset or a corded receiver (candlestick phone style) with the transmitter on the box.
