bousouzoku

暴走族 ぼうそうぞく

Bousouzoku (暴走族, lit. "violent running gang") is a subculture of Japanese motorcycle gangs.

The stereotypical look consists of round or wrap-around sunglasses, long hachimaki headbands with battle slogans, and a pompadour hairstyle.

Other styles consist of a military-styled school uniform (a gakuran) or jumpsuit, with the gang's name on the back, and a sarashi. Usually, any oddities on a male's school uniform is a sign of gang activity or rebellion that falls into boso-style.

Their vehicle of choice is either a large motorcycle, or a car, both with extensive styling and modifications (such as neon lights, low loading, etc.).
