crimson viper

クリムゾン・ヴァイパー ヴァイパー

Codename Crimson Viper (クリムゾン・ヴァイパー), also known as Maya (マヤ), is a character from Street Fighter debuting in Street Fighter IV. Her name is commonly shortened to C. Viper.

In SF4, Viper is an American operative employed by S.I.N. (Shadaloo Intimidation Network), the weapons division of Shadaloo led by Seth, who worked her way up to become head of the "Battle Suit" Project. The Battle Suit itself appears as a business suit but is stealthily augmented with numerous hidden gadgets such as electrically charged metal knuckles and jets in the shoes, as well as augmenting the user's natural physical abilities. The final test of the Battle Suit was for Viper to wear it herself and enter the World Warrior tournament as a fighter. She had run-ins with Chun-Li, Cammy White, Han Juri, and M. Bison during the tournament. In reality, Crimson Viper is a secret agent for the CIA (U.S. intelligence); she went undercover at S.I.N to acquire data from the BLECE Project, in addition to eliminating "Number 15". Though she failed at both objectives (the BLECE data was deleted by Cammy, and Juri took credit for destroying Seth), Viper was able to get away and keep the Battle Suit for herself.

C. Viper returns in Street Fighter 6, with a new look and new rendition of the Battle Suit. She appears as a lead researcher for SiRN, though whether she is still a CIA double agent is unknown.
