Orion with its solar array wings (SAW) extended
orion (spacecraft)
Not to be confused with the conceptual Project Orion nuclear pulse propulsion spacecraft.
The Orion is the crewed spacecraft used by NASA for the Artemis Program.
It is a partially-reusable spacecraft with a capacity of four, designed to carry astronauts to and from the Moon. It consists of a reusable crew module, a space capsule built by Lockheed Martin, and the expendable European Service Module, built by Airbus.
The Orion also has onboard amenities such as an exercise machine and a proper toilet, which the Apollo command modules did not have.
