Canceled series directed by Keiji Inafune meant as a spiritual successor to the Mega Man Legends series. Mega Man Legends is known in Japan as Rockman Dash, hence the name of the project, Red Ash (ReDASH).
Amidst the drama and criticism of his Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter project, Inafune launched two other fundraisers under Comcept LCC specifically for Red Ash: One for a 3D action adventure game titled Red Ash: The Indelible Legend, and another for an animated show titled Red Ash -Magicicada-.
Although the fundraiser for the game was not met, it would later be revealed that Chinese company FUZE Entertainment would cover the costs for the project. Despite that, no news would be heard from the game again since 2016.
Meanwhile, the anime was successful with its crowdfunding, a 22-minute short was produced by Studio 4°C and released for a limited time in the studios YouTube channel in 2022 as Red Ash: Gearworld.
