Well, they have to meet somehow... and I know that there's also a big thing about whole small cities starting up outside the city lines to house nothing but mistresses of urban Chinese, and there's a relative shortage of women in China overall... if there's a significant portion of women in China marrying Japanese men, then it leads to wondering if there are many uncommitted Chinese women left at all...

I would expect, what with political tensions between the two nations, that they not really mingle all that much.
With a little research, I found there were 14000 cases of Chinese women marrying Japanese men in 2001, 11000 in 2003, 12000 cases in 2007. The number of Chinese men marrying Japanese women is 10 times less, numbering around 1000 per year. Of all Chinese oversea marriages, 40% are to Japan. Korea is another popular destination. In comparison, total number of marriages in China in the 10 millions. Japanese marriages make about 0.1% of all cases. In contrast, about 1.3% of all Japanese marriages are with Chinese spouse.
I guess it's more that they all happen to live near one-another that they'd all know each other, then? Like, they all are from the Northeast provinces, and live near major airports or something?
