She apparently hiccuped right as she was drinking, so it went down the wrong pipe.

At least it not as worse as sneezing when you're eating, especially with little bitty things like corn or rice.

I once had that happen to me and I had to taste and smell corn for days while also feeling like something was shoved right my nose. It was an awful experience.

You got it better than me. The same thing happened to me, but change corn with rice...and a nice helping of spicy chicken curry, enough to make me sweat. Imagine the pain.
