The priests of Aphrodite's temple then decided that the statue was "too immodest" for public display, and promptly locked it up in the temple, commissioning Praxiteles to sculpt a fully-clothed version to replace the nude one.
So once again, much like what's happening recently with some legislators and certain types of anime pornography, religious conservatives got in the way of a good fap.
...or perhaps the priests were just too tired of scrubbing semen stains off the goddess, I dunno.
