The teleport attendant did say he had the eyes of a criminal, but I'm guessing he intentionally moved as far away as he needed to so no one would recognize him
There's a distinct possibility, since he was participating as part of the demons' rebellion that he was discounted as a demon at the time and/or the prejudice against demons was to the point where most people wouldn't think that a human would've helped them.

Hell, even if it really was for his own benefit, he was the first person to go out of their way to help the girl, considering the absolute hell she went through otherwise. He didn't just heal her physically, but emotionally as well.
Well, that's a sudden revelation. Maybe the author doesn't want the story to drag too much.
Worth remembering, this girl still has two limbs in need of restoration; this isn't ending any time soon either way. In fact, I'd say this extends the story rather than shortens it, as it creates potential plot hooks, complications etc that, if brought up, absolutely will take time to resolve.
