It is better to automatically import some useless commentaries than to miss ones which contain good information.

But don't add the commentary_request tag if it's symbol-only_commentary / english_commentary.

I'm not sure what you think commentary request is for, but it's for asking people to translate commentaries into English from other languages. Try reading its wiki sometime.

Don't just automatcially click the "add commentary request" button every time you import commentary.

Do you honestly think I added 100k+ artcomms by hand?

It's a bot that doesn't do language processing. The requested feature isn't currently implemented, as language processing on internet-tier text, especially non-English, is not straightforward. I do not plan to implement this feature, as the error rate would likely be higher than the "native" error rate of adding commentary_request to symbol-only_commentary. If you disagree with this, feel free to join the discord server where this point has been raised before, with the same conclusion.

Then maybe you shouldn't be using a bot to do something that's going to leave a trail for other users to clean up. Someone doing this manually wouldn't be overlooked, I don't see why someone using a bot should be excused.

You're focusing in on a useless metatag, rather than seeing the value of crawling for missing artcomm.

It would be better if you imported the commentary without a tag.
You filling it up like this makes it useless.

*edit* In fact, you are actively making it worse - e.g. post #5863425 already had english_commentary, then your bot added commentary_request which is absurd.

While I don't support mass-adding commentaries like redtails does, I think it's worse to do it without adding any of the commentary tags.

Isn't that because you yourself never tagged it with commentary to start with? I have to assume the bot only adds commentary request if neither of the 2 base commentary tags are already tagged.
