Norwegian and Thai kanmusu before Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Gneaisenau, Graf Spee, Missouri, Wisconsin, Arizona, Enterprise, Indianapolis, The Sullivans, Laffey, William D Porter, Kidd, King George V, Prince of Wales, Hood, Renown, Edinburgh, Glowworm, Dunkerque, Béarn, and Surcouf.
I'm not mad, just disappointed. She's cute, though. Good art style and design.
We've all got ships we'd like to see in the game, and for ships that aren't Japanese there's no guarantee that they ever will be. But it's still best to be patient.

As a fun fact. for Schanhorst/Gneisenau. Zeco, the artist behind the US destroyers such jhonston and Samuel.B Roberts. Did created a shipgirl design for those german ships back in the day. Such design got later re-used and re-shaped as Fletcher iirc
But one day....But hey we all want X ship to be in the game. If you ask me. i want the Canarias C-21, a heavy cruiser from Spain which got surprisingly a lot of history going on and has so much potential for the game because in terms of remodels it can cover a lot of eras that ship went through but anyways.

10 years ago, it'd hard to believe they would go to minor navies. Now, after Norwegians and Thais? It is even more possible than Big E.
a complete waste of potential for the so called "pioneer" of the trend itself. it is a shame that the devs fail this.
Given that the competition is releasing WoWS fantasy designs, age of sail frigates, missile destroyers, rehashes of existing ships that are either idols or blackpilled, and crossover characters that aren't even ships, I think I prefer the slow burn of Kantai Collection that can still get people excited with such notable examples as Kirov, Minneapolis, Wahoo, Glorious, Wasp, and Dace in its 12th year of operation even if it comes at the cost of including some auxiliaries and minor powers.

Not seeing people's expectations up or the mega-copium that proven by those negavotes (ha). But kancolle is already beyond interesting. RNG alone is too bothersome by the current period, "fanservice" utterly reduced and it is already 12 years and Kriegsmarine barely got any new ships.
Azur Lane may become a big booba fetish, but at least they did something that kancolle continue to fail, abit they're just failing to do their own thing.

While I am willing to admit that the lack of Krauts has gotten pretty annoying, I would hesitate to say that the fanservice has been neutered when you have Wahoo, Ra, the swimsuits and Jiji. Honestly though, comparing gameplay is like comparing Tic-tac-toe to peekaboo. One might be better but that still doesn't reflect well on it. If I may be quite frank, I've always felt that the best part of these games is the fanarts.

I don't see it as a wasted potential, I see it as the devs probably have stopped caring about it. Ever since the gacha-mechamusume-genre boom, competitions has already complicated especially when AL dominated globally, that is the time KC decided to go on separate ways and focusing more on becoming a niche for real navy otakus. The fandom pretty much accepted that KC's popularity is already a shell of its former self and only focused now on longevity as it is being preserve as a relic.
I don't know why do we keep having discussion about this, asking KC devs to change how they implement things is like asking ZUN to change his artstyle.

Agreed since at least the game respects your time spending touching grasses and the auxiliaries still having its place despite being pretty niche, unlike in Azur Lane wherein they added munition ships that were completely useless in anything but fanservice.
In addition, gacha games like them churning out content in a breakneck speed shall exhaust (and eventually kill) any excitement among players, particularly those who can't keep up
