Nothing much except something to push the story and an excuse to draw Yuuka's hair and Nitori.

Here's my initial problem though, at first in my draft, Yuuka is seemed to be a violent and prone to anger character but actually just wanted to be liked and hang around with other youkai, y'know, the typical moemoe youkai behind violent exterior. She's supposed to be a lonely person who just wanted company.

Then I realized that that's overdone. Here's 2 most common depiction of Yuuka, a very violent sadistic Yuuka, and the moemoe Yuuka like above. Fandom had it's fun drawing Yuuka crying due to loneliness.

I decided that I want neither so I settle for something in between, I wanted to depict Yuuka, being an old and experienced youkai to be a more composed character, but her prowess itself create plenty of rumours about her and her usually being alone twist that rumour even further. Then even a cool character can get lonely, so here comes the umbrella. She admit that 'she's not the nicest' because being an old youkai means she would've involved herself in lots of disputes and that's just life experience.
